KL Rahul becomes fastest to score 5000 runs in IPL during DC vs LSG

Fastest to 5000 IPL Runs: Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul added one more feather to his name becoming the fastest player in the Indian Premier League to reach the 5000 runs milestone during the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday. Rahul reached the milestone in his 130th IPL innings, surpassing David Warner’s previously held record of scoring 5000 runs in 135 innings.
The 33 year old needed 51 runs to breach the milestone ahead of the match. Having played for Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants before moving to Delhi, Rahul also became only the eighth player to cross the 5000-run mark in IPL.
During his innings, he also surpassed Chris Gayle (4965) in the all-time run scorers l of the IPL. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Warner, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni and Ab de Villiers sit ahead of Rahul in the l of most runs scored in IPL. Kohli leads the chart with 8326 runs.

Rahul scored a gritty 57, helping Delhi chase down 160 in just 17.5 overs and beat LSG eight wickets. Delhi moved to 12 points after winning their sixth game in eight matches and stayed in second place behind Gujarat Titans in the points table. LSG also stayed in fifth after losing their fourth match in nine games.
Earlier, Rahul also became the fastest Indian and third-fastest player overall in IPL to hit 200 sixes. With his first six of the innings against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, he reached the milestone in 129 innings. With 200 maximums in 128 innings, Rahul sits third in the l of fastest 200 sixes behind Gayle and Andre Russell.
