Lionel Messi deciphers his 2022 World Cup ass for Nahuel Molina: ‘I saw him and I saw him keep running’

It’s difficult to get inside Lionel Messi’s head. To understand how he’s able to do all that he does on a football pitch. Take his ass to Nahuel Molina in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup quarterfinal against the Netherlands.
Receiving the ball on the right in the central region of the pitch, he cuts back inside, stops for a while before running back and fashioning a no look stab pass through a couple of defenders to the inward right channel where Molina has made a run to be one-v-one against the goalkeeper.
Recently in an interview to TV Publica, Messi opened up on the glorious moment. “Did you see me or not?” Molina enquired.

“Yes, I saw him and I saw him keep running. I understood that the natural thing at that moment was to pass the ball to the side, so I thought it was appropriate to deliver it to him because I thought the defense was expecting something different. I did not hear him, but I saw him,” the Argentine skipper answers.
Messi, who recently made a move from Paris Saint Germain to MLS club Inter Miami, also shared the emotions he felt on full-time whle two games later as Argentina lifted the title for the first time since 1986.

“It’s hard for me to express myself in this way but that’s how I felt. It’s a group I love so much. Of course we are many and I am closer to some colleagues than others, but overall I have positive feelings towards everyone and it was an amazing experience.”
