Missing Minor Girl Found Dead; 14-year-Old Arrested for Rape and Murder

RAIPUR: The body of the 8-year-old girl missing since December 7th was discovered just behind the colony she lived. A 14 year old boy, the neighbor of the victim has reportedly been arrested for allegedly raping and killing her the Raipur police said in a press briefing on Thursday.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prashant Agarwal said, “A missing complaint on the eight-year-old girl was received on December 7 evening. Acting on the complaint, the police regered a case and started searching for the girl.” “Five days later, the minor girl was found dead at a deserted place just behind the colony where she was living. During the subsequent investigation, the police arrested the accused, also a minor, who lives in the same building where the girl was residing,” Agrawal said.
Preliminary investigations revealed the boy strangulated her to death after raping her. A detailed probe is however launched into the case.
Meanwhile, the opposition in Raipur staged a protest blaming the Baghel govt and the police adminration for the incident.
