Maalik Box Office Collection Day 6: Is the failure of Rajkummar Rao’s crime saga a warning sign for Mirzapur the film? | Bollywood News

Good news is hard to come for actor Rajkummar Rao, as his new film, Maalik, has been met with a lukewarm response at the box office. The film continues to struggle, with audiences largely preferring the alternatives on offer. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Maalik earned approximately Rs 1.6 crore on its sixth day (Wednesday), bringing its total India net collection to Rs 19.7 crore. Made on a reported budget of Rs 55 crore, the film has not even crossed the halfway mark in nearly a week. As things stand, sustaining significant growth on its seventh day remains highly unlikely.
On its sixth day, the film recorded an overall occupancy rate of just 9.83%. The growth in occupancy remained minimal throughout the day, with morning shows seeing 5.45% occupancy, rising slightly to 9.55% in the afternoon, 10.63% in the evening, and peaking at 13.68% in the night shows. Traditional urban markets like Delhi-NCR remained underwhelming with just 10% occupancy. Mumbai showed a modest improvement with 14%, while tier-2 cities such as Jaipur emerged as relative bright spots with 18.25% occupancy.
