At least 33 injured after shuttle bus crashes in US’ Missouri | World News

At least 33 people were injured when a shuttle bus moving on State Highway 100 crashed into a ditch in US’ Missouri on Saturday morning.
The officials said that the Freightliner shuttle bus which was heading westbound on State Highway 100 west of Eagles Nest Drive in Gasconade County went off the track on the right side of the road.
The bus driver, while overcorrecting, drove left of the road and crashed into the ditch, Missouri Highway Patrol said. The officials from the highway patrol didn’t reveal the exact reason for the crash.

The injured people are aged between 27 and 68 and out of the 33 injured, four have suffered serious injuries, 11 have moderate, and 17 have minor.
According to highway patrol records, the 45-year-old driver of the shuttle bus was seriously injured in the crash and was airlifted to a local hospital. Others who were seriously injured are: a 36-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man and a 60-year-old man.
The officials didn’t reveal the identity of anyone on the bus. A 60-year-old woman was the only person in the bus who remained uninjured. However, all the passengers, including the unharmed woman, were transported to hospital.
The reports stated that 41 people were initially onboard the bus and 22 were from Missouri, eight from Illinois and one from Kansas, The Independent reported, quoting the fire department.Story continues below this ad
The road where the crash took place was reopened for the normal public at around 1:30pm on Saturday, less than three hours after the accident.
According to the Hermann Area Volunteer Fire Department, the crash was being considered a “mass casualty incident.”
