Madhya Pradesh: Tigress found dead in Satpura Tiger Reserve

BHOPAL: A tigress was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Satpura Tiger Reserve(STR) of Hoshangabad district on Monday.
It was six to seven years old and was found in a territorial area by the morning patrolling squad near Bagra area – 35 km from district headquarters.
“Carcass is intact. Actual cause of the death will be ascertained only after we get the forensic report,” said STR field director L Krishnamurthy.
He said there is no human habitation around the site where this big cat was found.
Senior forest officials reached the spot after receiving information. Investigators suspect poisoning to be the case behind the death of the tigress. There are around 30 tigers in STR.
