Dr. Mann. Lt. General Leslie Groves. And finally… Odysseus, the King of Ithaca. After playing pivotal roles in Chropher Nolan’s Interstellar and Oppenheimer, Matt Damon is set to finally play the lead role in his upcoming film, Odyssey.
The movie, which is written and directed Nolan, is based on the iconic Homer poem, Odyssey, and the makers shared a first look poster of Damon as Odysseus.

As with most of Chropher Nolan’s recent films, Odyssey will also be a major multi-starrer, especially since the poem features pivotal characters meeting Odysseus in his journey. Some of the names involved in the project include Zendaya, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong’o, Bill Irwin, Charlize Theron, Samantha Morton, and Nolan alumni like Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, and Himesh Patel.

Interestingly, Odyssey is set to be shot with IMAX cameras, and it would be lovely to see how the period setup comes to life considering Nolan’s proclivity to use minimal CGI. Backed Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas’ Syncopy Inc banner, Odyssey is expected to hit theatres on July 17, 2026.
