When and where to watch Met Gala 2025:
Met Gala is happening on Monday at 6 pm (ET). For Indian viewers, that’s 3:30 am on Tuesday, May 6 (). The exhibition tied to the event, though, will go on display only in October 2025. Who is hosting Met Gala 2025?
La La Anthony, who’s become a red carpet regular now, will be hosting the night, joined Teyana Taylor (singer, actor, style icon) and SNL’s Ego Nwodim. And to bring in all the juicy details of who’s wearing what, Emma Chamberlain is back again as Vogue’s special correspondent. “I’ve been doing the Met Gala livestream for a long time. Now I got my girls joining me—it’s going to be crazy,” La La shared in a Vogue video. “It’s me and Teyana at the arrivals, and La La at the top of the stairs,” Ego added.

Met Gala 2025 theme holds a deeply meaningful place in the world of fashion. The theme this time is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Vogue describes it as one that “explores the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora.” Inspired the book Slaves to Fashion Monica L. Miller, the exhibit will showcase how, over the years, Black men have used fashion to express “identity and resance,” especially through the lens of Black dandyism, from the 1700s till now. The Black identity, which continues to be one of the most debated topics in the US, has definitely turned the world’s attention toward this year’s Met. According to Vogue, the exhibition is curated Andrew Bolton, with guest curator Monica Miller, who also happens to be a professor of Africana Studies at Barnard College, Columbia University.

Met Gala 2025 dress code
The dress code for the Met Gala 2025 is “Tailored for You.” Since the exhibit’s focus is on menswear, it doesn’t want its guests to feel boxed in, instead, it’s all about going all out with personal style, just with a tailored tw. Guests have been asked to take the idea of suiting up and spin it their own way. Something like bold silhouettes, prints, maybe a nod to their culture, or even a horical reference, but all open to free interpretation. As Vogue puts it, the dress code is: “Purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.”
