Meta AI introduces ‘Imagine Me’ feature in India; lets users create generative AI images of themselves using text prompts | Technology News

Meta AI is rolling out a new AI-powered feature called “Imagine Me,” in India starting July 17.
The new feature lets users generate AI images of themselves using text prompts within chat windows of Meta platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger.
Last year, META CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave a glimpse of this feature posting a reel showing how it is done.

How to use this feature on Meta platforms
Users can use the “Imagine Me” feature within their WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram chat windows. Users can initiate a conversation tagging @Meta AI on all these platforms, both in individual and group chats, and make prompts that begin with “Imagine me as…”
To ass Meta AI in creating more accurate and customised photographs, users will be asked to provide three selfies showing the front, left, and right angles of their faces. These setup photos and the user’s text prompt will then be used Meta AI to create unique images.
“Imagine me as a 90s gangster,” “imagine me as a cowboy,” are examples of prompts users can use. Users can also provide a setting in the prompt. For example, “Imagine me as a 90s gangster sipping coffee at an Indian beach,” or “imagine me as a cowboy, but on the moon, wearing futuric clothes.” In a matter of seconds, Meta AI will create a customised image.
If users are not happy with the AI-generated image of themselves, they also have the option to edit, regenerate or remove the images. Users can also retake pictures, manage their preferences, or disable the feature.Story continues below this ad
Currently, images created using Meta’s own AI tools are tagged with a watermark that says ‘Imagined with AI.’ For other AI-generated images, Meta is likely to detect and tag them with a label that reads ‘AI info,’ as per the company’s updated policy.
