Mohamed Salah and Van Dijk close to Liverpool contract extension

As Liverpool inch closer towards the Premier League title with every passing game, star players Mohamed Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk are close to making a decision on their contract situation at Anfield. As per reports, the duo are very close to penning new deals, there extending their illustrious stay at Anfield.
Liverpool are ‘increasingly confident’ as per multiple reports in keeping Salah at the club for longer. The Egyptian has scored 27 goals and set up another 17 in his 31 games for the club in the Premier League this season. He also directly contributed to 7 goals in 9 UCL games, up until LFC’s elimination at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16.
As for Virgil van Dijk, the club captain himself put an end to all the chatter surrouding his future. “There is progress”, said the Dutchman while speaking to media about contract negotiations with the club.

The Times’ football correspondent Paul joyce said, “No details are known on Salah’s potential new deal but sources suggest a two-year extension seems most likely”.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has time and again stressed that both Salah and Van Dijk are crucial to his game plan and that he needs them going forward in the coming seasons. Salah will turn 33 in June while Van Dijk will hit 34 in July.
Back in November, Salah said that he is “more out than in” while referring to his contract situation at the club. With a second Premier League triumph soon to be claimed, it is only a matter of time before Liverpool announces the contract extensions for the two heavily capped stars.
