Mohamed Salah may afterall stay at Anfield.
The 32-year-old forward is close to extending his contract with Liverpool, The Times reported. The newspaper reported that Liverpool were confident of Salah staying back despite lengthy negotiations. Following a breakthrough in negotiations with Virgil van Dijk, the Liverpool captain, officials are confident that Salah will extend his eight-year stay at Anfield.
According to The Times, a pay cut has not been on the agenda during the negotiations with Salah. This season for Liverpool, Salah has scored 32 goals and provided 22 asss.

Liverpool coach Arne Slot has said that he wants Salah to stay.
Liverpool captain Van Dijk had said that ‘progress’ had been made in his contract negotiations.
Alexander-Arnold is also in negotiations to stay back but at the same time Real Madrid are also keen on bagging the England right back.
When asked about ‘progress’ in negotiations, Van Dijk had said, “There is progress, yeah. I don’t know, we’ll see. I love the club, I love the fans and today they were there for us again and we wanted to reward them…”Story continues below this ad
Van Dijk was brought on board Liverpool for a record £75 million fee for a defender from Southampton in 2018.
Liverpool manager Slot has also backed Salah to return to his best. “The good thing about Mo is he knows what kind of player he is. Mo will show up again, I don’t worry about that,” Slot had said after Liverpool had lost to Fulham.
