Mouni Roy hits back at wannabe trolls for targeting actors’ appearance; Palak Tiwari says ‘relentless hate’ pushes them under the knife | Bollywood News

Mouni Roy was recently trolled for her new look and for allegedly undergoing plastic surgery. In a recent interaction, the actor hit back at the criticism, calling trolls ‘unaccomplished’ and accusing them of ignoring the hard work actors put in to reach where they are. Her The Bhootnii co-star, Palak Tiwari, also spoke out against the toxic culture of celebrity bashing and the unrealic beauty standards imposed on female actors.
Palak addressed the constant criticism actors face, which often pushes them toward surgical procedures. Speaking to Nayandeep Rakshit, she said, “There is one thing that sells more than celebrity is celebrity bashing. We are in a time when there is a lot of hate against public figures in general. It’s unabashed and relentless and it has never been to this extent. People can feel anybody can do this job, which I understand and respect and I want to earn their reverence but there needs to be fairness.”
Calling out trolls for targeting female actors for their looks, she said, “You put our focus on our aesthetics and then when a person gets it doctored, you complain about us setting wrong example. First you shame a person for there appearance and then when try to fix because they succumb to the insecurities because of the hate around them then you bash them for giving into the hate. It’s the most unfulfilling situation. They just want to criticise you, it could be about your nose, hair, body weight anything.”

Later in the conversation, Mouni Roy joined in to share her experience with trolling. She said, “The sad part about trolling is that these are the people who haven’t achieved anything in life. They always have hatred for public figure but they aren’t willing to see the hustle and struggle that a person has to go through to reach that position. It’s funny to be.”
She added, “They don’t know how much hard work we have to put in to learn the craft, to go to auditions, to not belong to any kind of family family, have no means to go on and get our first job. We all have worked hard and given endless hours.”
For the unversed, Mouni Roy was targeted trolls who alleged that she had opted for bangs to hide a botched cosmetic procedure aimed at reducing the size of her forehead.
