MP to give smartphones to brides under CM kanya vivah yojna

Bhopal:Madhya Pradesh government which is yet to deliver on its smartphone promise to meritorious students, has on Tuesday decided to distribute free smartphones to the newly-wed girls under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah-Nikah Yojana. The decision, government says is aimed to facilitate easy communication and cash transaction through mobile applications.

​Government will also provide short time skill training to nearly two lakh women every year under its ambitious Kaushalya Yojana, which was approved by the state cabinet on Tuesday. An administrative approval of Rs 254.78 crore for the scheme in the current financial year and Rs 274.34 crore in the next financial year was made.

“The state cabinet approved the ambitious Mukhyamantri Kaushal Samvardhan Yojana (CM skill development scheme) where 10,000 trainees will be trained for various skills,” said state legislative and public relations minister Narottam Mishra while briefing reporters.
Cabinet also approved financial assistance of Rs 5,000 per month for each family in three leprosy centres (ashrams), where 108 families are staying at present. These are Mahatma Gandhi Kushth Ashram, Bhopal, Kushth Sewa Ashram Nandanagar, Indore and Karuna Sadan Kushth Nivaran Sanstha, Ranapur (Jhabua). The government will spend additional funds to provide housing, rehabilitation and education and employment of their children, said Mishra.

State cabinet has also taken decided to provide fertilizers and irrigation facilities to the farmers. The government has appointed the state cooperatives marketing federation (MARKFED) as the nodal agency for three years for making arrangements for fertilizers in the state. A sum of Rs 850 crore has been approved for the same, said the minister.

The government has also given administrative approval for medium and minor irrigation projects in Dindori and Tikamgarh districts.

Likewise, the wages of special assistants, personal secretaries, personal assistants and official of Mantralaya appointed for the assistance of the ministers has been hikes with effect from July 30, 2013, Mishra said.
