According to early reports, the film has minted Rs 10 crore on its opening day, with the Hindi version, featuring Shah Rukh Khan’s voice, emerging as the top performer, followed closely the Telugu version, which features the voice of Mahesh Babu as Mufasa.
According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, Mufasa: The Lion King, on day one in cinema halls, earned Rs 10 crore in India (English: Rs 4 crore ; Hindi: Rs 3 crore; Telugu: Rs 2 crore; Tamil: Rs 1 crore). According The Hollywood Reporter the film is expected to gross $180 million globally in its first weekend.

The star-studded voice cast of Mufasa: The Lion King has been a major draw for audiences, with Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu bringing their unique star power to the project. The Hindi version also boasts a talented lineup, including Meiyang Chang as Taka, and the beloved comic duo Shreyas Talpade and Sanjay Mishra voicing Timon and Pumbaa, respectively. Moreover, Shah Rukh Khan’s sons Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan are also part of the voice cast, with Aryan voicing Simba and AbRam making his debut as a voice actor, playing the younger version of Mufasa.
The film’s impressive opening day collections can be attributed to the strong demand at the box office, with approximately 65,000 tickets sold in advance bookings, including 35,000 reserved for the opening day alone. The Telugu version, in particular, has experienced impressive pre-sales, thanks to Mahesh Babu’s fanbase.
