BJP not to attend virtual meet with CM

The BJP has refused to attend a virtual meeting on May 12 with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. It has sought a personal meet with Baghel to discuss the Covid situation and work in coordination.

Addressing the media virtually on Sunday, BJP state President Vishnudeo Sai, Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik, Raipur MP Sunil Soni and MLAs Brijmohan Agrawal and Ajay Chandrakar said the government has shown disrespect towards the opposition.

A delegation level one-on-one meeting was sought from the Chief Minister. Until, such a meeting is agreed do, the BJP will not be interested in attend the virtual meet, they said.

Sai said the state government should make a policy which safeguards the interests of all the communities based on the directive of High Court of Chhattisgarh.

Instead of blaming the central government, the state should place an order for 1.35 crore residents who will undergo vaccination, for both the first and second dose.

Chhattisgarh has recorded 2.50 lakh wastage of vaccine. The Kerala Model should be adopted, Sai said.
