Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize after Iran-Israel ceasefire | World News

US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for helping to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, Fox News reported.
The nomination came from Republican Representative Buddy Carter, who said Trump played an important part in ending the fighting and stopping Iran from getting nuclear weapons. A nomination for Trump has also reportedly been submitted Pakan government, who praised his efforts to bring stability to the region.
In his letter to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, Carter wrote that Trump had an “extraordinary and horic role” in stopping the conflict between the two countries and “preventing the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism from obtaining the most lethal weapon on the planet.”

Trump announced on Monday that the ’12-day war’ was over, with a ceasefire due to start overnight on Tuesday. The fighting began when Israel carried out strikes on Iran, saying Tehran was close to getting a nuclear bomb. Both countries fired rockets at each other, and the US hit Iran’s nuclear sites over the weekend. On Monday, Iran fired rockets at a US air base in Qatar but gave warning first. There were no injuries.
Carter said Trump’s actions showed the spirit of the Nobel Peace Prize. “President Trump’s influence was key in reaching a quick agreement that many thought impossible,” Carter said, adding that Trump had stopped Iran’s nuclear plans.
Trump has since flooded his Truth Social account with posts, sharing praise from supporters and thanking public figures. He wrote, “Both Israel and Iran wanted to stop the war, equally! It was my great honour to destroy all nuclear facilities and capability, and then, stop the war!”
In another post he said: “Thank you to Jeb Bush — very much appreciated!” and “What Biden did to this country should never be forgotten!”

Fox News reported that this is not the first time Trump has been nominated for the prize. Earlier this year, another Republican lawmaker nominated him, saying his election victory had helped world peace.
Trump has also been resharing posts that support his nomination and highlight his past nominations. According to the Nobel website, 338 candidates have been nominated for this year’s prize.
