Nepal’s youth will hold a rally on Monday to protest against corruption in the country.
The rally, at a venue close to the Prime Miner’s office, is being hosted people under 28, the Gen Z, with no political parties backing them. The organisers said they are fighting “rampant” corruption, inequality and the government coming down heavily on protests.
The movement comes five days after the K P Sharma Oli government ordered a shut down of 26 social media platforms including Instagram, Whatsapp, Signal and WeChat after their refusal to reger with the government and endorse a move to bring their users under state vigilance under a directive and law it plans to bring about.
