Netizens react to Salman Khan’s BTS pics as ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ clocks 22 years
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn’s film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ clocked 22 years on Friday.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film garnered massive acclaim. To celebrate the 22 years of the iconic film, the lead actors took to their respective social media handles to share a few unseen pictures.
Superstar Salman Khan posted a special photo from the sets of the film where he can be seen sharing the frame with Bhansali.
Sharing the photo, Salman wrote, “Baees saal ho Gaye #HumDilDeChukeSanam ko…” and tagged his co-star Ajay Devgn, and Bhansali’s production house.
Interestingly, he neither mentioned the film’s lead actress Aishwarya nor did he tag her in his post. It is a well-known fact that Salman and Aishwarya fell in love on the sets of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. However, their relationship didn’t last long and they ended it on a bitter note.
Fans were quick to point this out and took to the comments section of Salman’s post to remind him about his co-star Aishwarya.
“Someone missing Bhaijaan,” wrote a fan.
“Sir aap @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb ko tag krna bhul gye,” a user commented.
“Aaj agar #aishwaryaraibachchan ko tag kiya hota to aaj ki sabse badi breaking news hoti, “another one wrote.
“Aishwarya ko bhi tag kare na bhai woh bhi toh is film me hain,” another fan wrote in the comments section.
“Main heroine ko toh mentioned karte Bhai (sic),” a user wrote.
“Aishwarya ji ko tag kyon nhi kiya? Sorry for asking, but curiosity hai jaanne ki,” another user wrote.
‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ narrates the story of a newlywed man (Vanraj), who discovers that his wife (Nandini) is in love with another man (Sameer) and decides to unite them.
Ignoring the ridicule Vanraj might have to face for this, he takes his wife to Italy in search of her love. Nandini then has to choose between Sameer, the man who taught her to fall in love; and Vanraj, the man from whom she learnt how to abide and fulfill promises of love.
The film emerged as one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of 1999. It won four National Film Awards for ‘Best Production Design’, ‘Best Music Direction’, ‘Best Choreography’ for ‘Dholi Taro Dhol Baaje’ and for ‘Best Cinematography’.
