‘Never heard of you’: Trump spars with ABC reporter on fiery 100-day interview | World News

Donald Trump’s 100-day milestone interview with ABC wasn’t just fiery — it was a full-blown verbal tussle. In a pre-recorded interview that went out Tuesday night, the US President clashed with reporter Terry Moran over his tariff policies, deportations and the power of the presidency.
Right off the bat, Trump went for the jugular: “I never heard of you,” he told Moran, adding later, “You’re not being very nice.” Moran, who has worked for ABC for decades, found himself on the defensive as the two tangled over even the journal’s own reputation.
One of the interview’s most contentious moments came during a discussion of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man from El Salvador who was deported and detained despite lacking any clear links to MS-13. Trump insed that a photo showed the letters “MS” tattooed on Abrego Garcia’s knuckles. “Wait a minute, wait a minute. He had MS-13 on his knuckles,” Trump said. Moran countered: “That was Photoshopped.”

The president appeared baffled the challenge. “It says MS 13,” he repeated, refusing to back down. “This is why people no longer believe the news.”
Even when Moran tried to steer the conversation elsewhere — “I want to turn to Ukraine,” he said — Trump wouldn’t let it go. “No, no, no, no,” he replied, accusing Moran of doing a “disservice.”
At one point, Trump claimed he personally selected Moran for the interview. “They’re giving you the big break of a lifetime,” he said. “I picked you because, frankly, I never heard of you, but that’s OK.”

The tension didn’t ease when the conversation turned to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, a former Fox News host recently under fire for sharing sensitive military information on Signal. Asked if he had “100 percent confidence” in Hegseth, Trump shot back: “It’s a stupid question.”
The interview took another tw when Trump admitted he could bring Abrego Garcia back to the US — despite previously saying otherwise. “And if he were the gentleman that you say he is, I would do that,” he said.Story continues below this ad
Wrapping up the interview, Trump took a final swipe at the media: “ABC is one of the worst.”
