Meghan Markle opens up about miscarriage and motherhood: ‘You have to learn to detach from the thing you have so much hope for’ | Hollywood News

Meghan Markle is no stranger to the spotlight, but her latest conversation is striking a different chord. On a new episode of Confessions of a Female Founder, she opened up about dealing with the experience of miscarriage.
“I have spoken about the miscarriage we experienced,” Meghan said. “And I think in some parallel way, when you have to learn to detach from the thing that you have so much promise and hope for and to be able to be OK at a certain point to let something go, something that you plan to love for a long time.”

The conversation also highlighted the immense pressure placed on women to carry on — no matter what. Now a mother of two, Meghan acknowledged the conflicting emotions that come with motherhood. “Oh my gosh, I love being a mom so much, it’s my favourite thing. But then sometimes, you’re like I just need a break, I just need a minute, but then the second you step in the other room, I’m like, ‘let me scroll through pictures of them endlessly on my phone’.”
Recently, Prince Harry also opened up about Meghan, saying that ‘I am so happy for my wife and fully support absolutely everything she’s done and continues to do’. He was talking to People magazine about the launch of Meghan’s brand, As Ever. “I’m incredibly proud,” he adds.
Harry made a brief appearance in her Netflix series as well, as he joined a celebratory brunch for Meghan’s business. The two were seen sharing a quick kiss, as Harry told her: “You did a really great job. I love it.”
In May 2018, Meghan married Prince Harry, becoming the Duchess of Sussex. The couple has two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. She was last seen Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which premiered on March 4, 2025.
