Nick Jonas says ‘it’s scary’ to think of Malti Marie in showbiz after ‘what Priyanka and I went through…’ | Bollywood News

Nick Jonas recently appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where he shared what he and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, think about their daughter Malti Marie joining the entertainment industry at a young age. Nick was joined his Broadway play, The Last Five Years co-star Adrienne Warren. Clarkson shared how she started at 19 and gets nervous about letting her kids do the same at a young age, and then directed her question toward the singer: “Would you let yours?”

Nick admitted that Malti Marie loves to sing but added that, in the end, the decision will be hers. Talking about the idea of her stepping into showbiz, Nick said, “We have talked about it a lot. It’s going to be her choice. We have a three-year-old, and she loves to sing. I think a career in entertainment is a wonderful career. It’s also scary as a parent to think about all the things that I went through, my wife has gone through in her career.” However, Nick also mentioned that, as a parent, the thought is scary—especially after all that he and Priyanka have gone through in their own careers. “Your one job in life is to protect your kids, but it’s also to let them fly and live their life,” he added.

Nick started his professional singing career at the age of seven, when he appeared on Broadway in A Chrmas Carol. On the other hand, Priyanka stepped into the modelling world when she was just a teenager. During the conversation, Nick also shared that his daughter isn’t a fan of football. “We once took her to practice, and she was not at all having it,” he said, before adding, “Anyway, she’s singing a ton.” He continued, “I’m so grateful to my parents for letting us take big risks and chances. I think they did a great job of balancing that support while also being a little scared at times.”

Malti Marie made her first public appearance at the Jonas Brothers’ Hollywood Walk of Fame event. At the time, Nick gave a shout-out to his wife and daughter during his speech, saying, “To my beautiful wife, you are the calm in the crazy, the rock in the storm, and I love being married to you. It is the greatest gift. I love being a parent with you,” and added, “Malti Marie, I can’t wait to come here with you in 15 years and embarrass you in front of your friends”. 
Just a few days ago, Nick Jonas opened up about the couple living in New York for the time being and how Malti Marie has come to love the city. “She loves being in New York, and I think this time for us as a family has been wonderful. We’re so used to being in 10 different cities in 10 days. So to be in one place and have this time together has been really nice,” he shared with PEOPLE. Their little munchkin can often be seen accompanying her dad to his workplace during his Broadway preparations. “We’ve been exploring a bit and keeping her active and busy. We’re both obviously busy parents, but we’ve been finding time to spend as a family and connect amidst our crazy schedules, and it’s been lovely,” he added.
