It was a dominant win for the Indian boxer from Haryana as he landed clean blows from the first round. While Evans started attacking, Nishant did well to evade his initial punches and pushed him in the corner to land some clean blows. He continued this strategy of cornering Evans and landing punches on him throughout the bout. While Evans held off  for the five rounds, in the sixth round an upper cut from Nishant caught Evans off-guard resulting in him loosing the footing. In his last action, Nishant unleashed a flurry of punches and completely overwhelmed Evans. With one minutes and two seconds left on the clock, the referee intervened to declare Nishant winner TKO.

This is third career win for Nishant who turned professional in January winning his debut bout against Alton Wiggins knockout. He then regered an unanimous decision win over Josue Silva in his second bout last month.
Nishant is a former Olympian and World Championship medall who signed with Eddie Hearn led boxing promotion Matchroom Boxing in January, months after his heartbreaking loss to Marco Verde of Mexico in the 2024 Paris Olympics quarterfinal. Pursued his coach Ronald Simms, Nishant decided to quit on the Olympic dream and follow his childhood dream of becoming a professional boxing.
Earlier in an interview with the Indian Express, Nishant mentioned, “I was talking to Ronald during that time, and he asked me to travel to the USA and train with him for a few days. This was the same time around last year when the future of boxing was uncertain in the Olympic programme. A lot of people in the boxing community recognised me because of the quarter-final bout and also because I had fought USA’s Omari Jones in the first Olympic qualifiers.”
After training in the US for three months, Nishant received a call from Eddie Hearn, the British promoter who heads Matchroom Boxing. “When Eddie called and asked me to join… I didn’t think twice. It was about realizing the dream I saw as a 15-year-old when I stepped in the boxing ring for the first time.”
