‘No night flights’: Indian cricket team in West Indies tells BCCI after long wait at airport | Cricket News

The Indian team have expressed their unhappiness over planning of travel from Trinidad to Barbados, post the second Test match against West Indies, and requested that no further night flights be booked.
The Indian team was supposed to fly at 11 pm from Trinidad and reach Barbados early morning. However, their flight took off late, 3 am, and they reached their next destination only 5 am.
As a result the Indian team management has requested for better planning when they travel to the next destination, asking to fly in the morning instead of late night.

The last day of the second Test match couldn’t be concluded and rain played spoilsport as India won the two Test match series 1-0.
“They had left the hotel 8:40 pm for the airport and had to wait for a long time at the airport. The team management has requested us to book a morning flight instead of late night flights as players want some rest post game. The BCCI has agreed to it and is planning to revise the next schedule,” a source in the BCCI informed.
As a result, top players have requested the Indian team management for a day off from practice in Barbados.

The Indian team will be playing two ODI’s in Bridgetown in Barbados on July 27 and 29 and are scheduled to fly back to Trinidad on late 29th to play their scheduled third ODI on August 1.
Players who were picked only for the Indian ODI squad like Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson and Umran Mallik have reached Barbados and will be joining other members of the team.
Camp before Asia Cup
The Indian team management along with the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has planned a week-long camp in Bangalore just before the Asia Cup.

The Indian team for Ireland series is yet to be picked but it is learnt a second string team will be flying to Ireland. Those players who are in the mix for the 50 overs ICC World Cup won’t be part of the Ireland series. The Indian board in a discussion with selectors and team management has requested that players be preserved for the ICC World Cup that kicks off from October 5.
BCCI calls for meet of state associations
The BCCI secretary Jay Shah has written a letter to all staging associations hosting the ICC World Cup 2023 asking them to meet in Delhi on July 27 to take stock of the work done.
“I feel it will be in the best interest of all concerned that we meet again to exchange notes and take stock of any issue which needs discussion and decision. Accordingly, you are here requested to attend a meeting of the World Cup hosting associations,” a letter sent to all state association read.
