No worry ! will provide manure: CM to farmers
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that availability of DAP, Urea, NPK will be ensured as per requirement of the State, farmers should not worry. He told farmers to shed the mindset of manure shortage and not to worry, required quantity of manure will be provided from time to time. 32 additional rakes will reach various places in the state by October 30. This urea will be made available to the farmers. Discussion has been held with the Government of India for supply of fertilizers in November. We will definitely get manure as per the requirement of the state.
Chouhan was reviewing the status of fertilizers in the state at residence. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shailendra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Ajit Kesari and other officers were present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that by the end of October last year, 3.48 lakh metric tonnes of urea had been lifted by the farmers. This year 3.18 lakh metric tonnes have been lifted. The remaining quantity will also be made available by the end of this month ie by October 31. Last year till the end of October, 2.78 lakh metric tonnes of DAP was purchased by the farmer. This year, 2.31 lakh metric tonnes of DAP have been purchased by farmers and the remaining quantity is also being made available.
Chouhan said that NPK is also available in adequate quantity. Chief Minister Chouhan appealed to the farmers to use NPK and super phosphate also if need arises. Chouhan directed that there should be no black marketing of fertilizers in the districts under any circumstances and justified distribution system should be ensured. Chouhan had a telephonic discussion with Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya regarding supply of fertilizers in the state.
