Hasan Nawaz slammed fastest T20I hundred for Pakan as they defeated New Zealand nine wickets to keep alive the five-match series. Pakan finished at 207-1, running down the home team’s total of 204 with four full overs to spare to inflict New Zealand’s heaviest T20 loss in terms of wickets.
Nawaz, who got out on ducks in the first two match, broke the record set Babar Azam in 2021, and reached the three figures in just 44 balls.

Pakan openers Nawaz and Mohammad Haris put on 75 for the first wicket, within the six-over power play. Haris made 41 from 20 balls with four fours and three sixes to get the Pakan innings off to the rapid start it needed.
“The two youngsters batted really well…I thought 200 is par here, it’s a good ground for batting,” said Pakan captain Agha.
Nawaz was supported in his first century captain Salman Ali Agha, who made 51 from 31 balls in an unbroken partnership of 133 for the second wicket
“The way I got out in first two matches, I was very disheartened, but captain and Shadab supported me, told me I am a match winning player and that helped me,” Nawaz said at the post-match presentation. Story continues below this ad
“I just had in my mind that I need to score a single first in international cricket and then after that I felt relaxed and the pressure was released. I had so much backing and I am so grateful to my captain.”
Earlier, Pakan won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Mark Chapman made 94 from 44 balls before New Zealand was bowled out with one ball remaining in their 20 overs.
Haris Rauf took 3 for 29 in an excellent bowling performance in the middle of the innings.
