NZ vs PAK: ‘Thank you for picking me to be the coin toss kid…Some day I want to be a Blackcap,’ toss mascot pens down emotional message to New Zealand cricket | Cricket News

Toss mascot Will who was at the flip of the coin during the second T20I between New Zealand and Pakan has penned down a heartfelt message thanking the New Zealand players and cricket team.
The little one wrote, “Thank you for picking me to be the coin toss kid at the Blackcaps vs Pakan game in Seddon Park, Hamilton that was played last night. I really liked it and I and I got most players signatures on my bat I was a little nervous to start with but every one was nice to me.”
Will also mentioned that he would aspire to become a New Zealand cricketer one day. “Some day I want to be a Blackcap myself thanks for letting me do that last night from Will.”

Will was also seen taking pictures with leg-spinner Ish Sodhi and Daryl Mitchell posted the Blackcaps on their social media handles.
Will’s joy increased as the evening went as the team he supported thrashed Pakan 21 runs in the game. He was treated to a blering knock from Finn Allen who made 74 from 41 balls set a cracking pace early on in the New Zealand innings. Allen put on 59 in 5.1 overs with Devon Conway (20) for the first wicket and 52 in 4.9 overs with Williamson before the Kiwi captain retired hurt on 26.
Chasing 195 Pakan did start well but stumbled in the second half of its innings and was bowled out for 173 in the 20th over. It looked well on course to level the series when Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman made half-centuries in an 87-run partnership for the third wicket.
However, Ben Sears, Adam Milne and Southee helped New Zealand put the brakes on Pakan at the end of its innings. Milne took four for 33, Sears two for 28, Southee two for 31 and Ish Sodhi took two for 33 after conceding 19 runs from his first over.
