Mikey Madison recently won the Academy Award for the Best Female in a Leading Role for her work in Anora. In a recent interview, Mikey spoke about her “surreal” experience and shared that she loved the performance of all her fellow nominees.
In a conversation with the Hollywood Reporter, Madison said, “I’m still floating in a dreamlike state; it was a very surreal night. I think that I still need time to digest it.” Madison pointed out that she loved the performance of all her fellow nominees and feels honoured to have won the awards. “I met with Fernando (I’m Still Here) and texted with Demi Moore (The Substance),” she added.
“I adore Demi; she is one of the sweetest and kindest women I have ever met. I am so grateful that I was able to meet her and witness her greatness in person.” Moore was being considered the front runner for award after her performance in the body horror film The Substance.

Madison also reflected on the future and what her plans are after achieving this incredible feat so early in her career. “It’s an honor to be recognised, and I hope that throughout all stages of my life I will be able to continue working in this capacity and keep playing interesting characters.”
“I am used to fighting for characters and auditions, so it is a bit different now. But I am excited to play the roles I might get to play and people I might get to work with. I am only 25, and I still feel like a student. This award is a beautiful reminder to stay on this journey, and I hope to feel like a student even 40 years from now,” she added.
