‘Paid to speak for tech to show tech is right’: Harbhajan Singh takes a dig at Nasser Hussain | Cricket-world-cup News
Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh got into a spat on X(Formerly known as Twitter) after expressing his discontent towards the Decision Review System (DRS). The 43-year-old took a dig at Nasser Hussain and alleged that the former English skipper was paid to speak in favour of technology when a user posted a video clip of Hussain explaining the rules of DRS.
“Paid to speak for tech to show tech is right. He is suggesting tech is right, @imVkohli isn’t, because tech must have paid the broadcaster to show how important is tech .. OK if the tech is right go with tech Why do u need umpires to stick to their own decisions? Utterly nonsense .. use 1 tech or umpire.. don’t make people fool who love this game blindly,” Harbhajan wrote. Most Read

The spat started when Harbhajan tweeted “Bad umpiring and bad rules cost Pakan this game.. @ICC should change this rule .. if the ball is hitting the stump that’s out whether umpire gave out or not out doesn’t matter.. otherwise what is the use of technology???”

The Tweet came as a response when Tabriz Shamsi was not given out on-field the umpire during Haris Rauf’s over. Pakan reviewed the decision only to find out the ball was just clipping the leg stump and on ball-tracking, it showed the umpire’s call hence Shamsi survived. If it was given out on-field Pakan would have won the game however, the Proteas clinched a nail-bitter in Chennai to win one wicket.
“It is part of the game, in DRS it is part of the game. Had he given it out, it would have favoured us. We have an opportunity to win this and stay in the race but not to be,” Pakan skipper Babar Azam would say after the game.
The defeat has put Pakan’s World Cup campaign in jeopardy. They have to win their remaining three games and hope other results go in their favour.
