Pakan and Sri Lanka will lock horns in the fifth match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2023 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday, September 14. Both teams are coming into the game on the back of defeats against India and will be keen on an improvement.Pakan were bundled out for 128 in their last match against India, and Sri Lanka lost 41 runs. Both teams will need to bat better in order to win this match.Pakan will be relying on their experienced batting lineup, led Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. However, the middle order has been a concern for Pakan in recent times, and they will need to step up in this match.
Sri Lanka have a more explosive batting lineup, with Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, and Dhananjaya de Silva all capable of scoring big runs. However, they have also been inconsent, and they will need to be more disciplined in their batting in order to challenge Pakan.

Changes galore for Pakan
Pakan revealed their playing eleven a day before the game and Zaman Khan has replaced Naseem Shah. Mohammad Wasim Jr also found a place.
Interestingly, Champions Trophy hero Fakhar Zaman has been benched and Mohammad Haris has replaced him.
Among other changes, Saud Shakeel made it to the eleven in place of Agha Salman.
Spinner Mohammad Nawaz was included and Faheem Ashraf has been rested.

Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka were hit hard injuries in the run-up to the tournament as key players like Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera and Lahiru Kumara were ruled out. It has forced them to field a young side lacking in experience and exposure but players such as Dunith Wellalage, Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana have come up with some impressive efforts in the tournament. Like the previous match against India, Lanka could offer a similar pitch to Pakan as it can also nullify their pace battery led left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. They are likely to go in with an unchanged eleven from the previous game.
