PCB reschedules Thursday’s PSL match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi | Cricket News
The Pakan Cricket Board rescheduled Thursday’s Pakan Super League (PSL) match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi after Indian military strikes in the country in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
“The Pakan Cricket Board, in consultation with all the stakeholders, has decided to reschedule tonight’s HBL PSL X match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. The PCB will announce the revised date in due course,” the cricket board said in a media statement.
The Indian armed forces launched precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakan and Pakan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke. The strikes were in response to the attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people, mostly tours, were gunned down.

On Thursday, there was a change in venue for the Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings as well when the fixture, scheduled for May 11 in Dharamsala, was shifted to Ahmedabad owing to the closure of the hill town’s airport in the wake of military action against terror infrastructure in Pakan.
The IPL confirmed the development with an official statement. “IPL Match No. 61 between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, originally scheduled to be played in Dharamshala on Sunday, May 11, has been relocated to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The venue change has been necessitated due to logical challenges. The match will begin at 3:30 PM as per the original schedule,” the statement read.
The Dharamsala airport has been closed for commercial flights at least until May 10 in the wake of India’s military strikes on terror infrastructure inside Pakan and Pakan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Punjab Kings play Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala on Thursday. It remains to be seen how both Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are ferried out of Dharamsala with the flight operations shut in the picturesque town. With Chandigarh airport also closed, teams need to find a way to get to Delhi.
