Plan for 2-day lockdown on Saturday and Sunday
Bhopal : The district crisis management committee, on Sunday, sent a proposal for a two-day lockdown on Saturday and Sunday. Shops of electricians and hardware will be opened only for two days which will be fixed by the district administration.
Department of Medical Education (DME) minister Vishwas Sarang, who has been made in-charge of Bhopal district for Covid affairs, presided over the meeting. The decision has been taken considering the weekly average of corona-positive rate in Bhopal above 5 per cent.
Lok Sabha MP, Bhopal, Pragya Thakur, who was present at the meeting, said, “Initially, we’ve decided on a two-day lockdown on Saturdays and Sundays; it’ll start on Friday evening and carry on till Monday morning. Shops of hardware and electricians will be opened two days a week and the days will be fixed by the district administration. We’ll see the impact of the graded unlocking and, if the number of corona cases remains under control, we’ll go in for further unlocking. Only 25 per cent of the shops will be opened.”
Similarly, take-home facilities from restaurants will be opened, but there will not be any facility of lunch and dinner at restaurants. Cinemas, malls, schools and colleges will remain closed. Private institutes will function with 50 per cent capacity of staff. In temples, four persons will be permitted at a time. Twenty persons will be permitted for marriage functions and 10 persons will be permitted for funerals.
Except offices which provide essential services, other offices will function with 100 per cent officers and 50 per cent employees. In taxi cabs, three people, including the driver, will be allowed.
