Post-Ranchi Test win: Shubman Gill shares motivational quote of Rahul Dravid; Ravindra Jadeja calls it a ‘cool win’ | Cricket News

Shubman Gill, who was on the verge of getting dropped after failures in South Africa and the first two Tests against England has not only rediscovered his mojo but also showed that India’s batting is in safe hands. In the last four innings, the youngsters has managed 309 runs, including a century and two match winning fifties. All of his good knock has come in the second innings and probably the most impressive of all were the unbeaten 52 he scored in the fourth innings in Ranchi.
Chasing 192 to win, India lost five wickets for 36 runs and were at spot of bother as they slipped to 120 for 5 but Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel (39 not out) put on a sixth-wicket partnership of 72 to get the hosts over the line.
Post the win, Gill shared motivational quote from head coach Rahul Dravid, which might had played a big role in him turning around the tables.
“If not you, then who? If not now, then when? – Rahul Dravid,” Shubman wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja called the Ranchi Test victory a “cool” win connecting it to former India captain MS Dhoni.
“Cool victory in hometown of captain cool 3-1,” posted Jadeja on his Instagram handle.
Virat Kohli, who missed the Test due to personal reasons, wwas one of the first to congratulate the young Indian team.

Sachin Tendulkar, too, lauded India’s young un after impressive series win against England.
“The score is 3-won! India once again came back from a pressure situation and fought back to win the match. It shows the character and the mental strength of our players. A great first spell in Test cricket for Akashdeep,” Sachin wrote on X.

“Dhruv Jurel was terrific at reading the length in both innings and his footwork was precise. His partnership with Kuldeep Yadav kept us in the game in the 1st innings, and his knock in the 2nd innings helped us sail home.

It was the first test series defeat for England under captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum.
England had won the first test in Hyderabad 28 runs. India responded winning the second test in Visakhapatnam 106 runs, and then the third test in Rajkot 434 runs. The fifth test will be played in Dharamshala from March 7.
The win also healped India climbed to second in the world test championship table with a win percentage of 64.58 in eight matches. England slipped to eighth with a win percentage of 19.44 in eight games.
