‘Prepare turning track at your own peril’: Alyssa Healy says the ploy will backfire for India | Cricket News

New Australia women’s cricket captain Alyssa Healy has warned India for preparing a spin-friendly track during their upcoming multi-series tour in India. Australia will play one Test, three T20Is and as many ODIs in the tour.
Healy said preparing the rank turners might backfire for India as Asutralia have a really good spin attack.
“I’m actually really intrigued to see what sort of wickets they prepare,” Healy told reporters.
“I think we’ve got a really, really good spin attack, so do that at your own peril.

“Don’t get me wrong, the Indians have got a strong spin attack as well, but we’ve got some of the best leg-spinners in the world. We’ve got Ash Gardner, who took nine wickets on English soil with the ball in hand, so prepare spinning wickets at your own demise.
“It will be interesting to see if they make it nice and flat, but I haven’t played at Wankhede since the IPL exhibition game a couple of years ago, so I’m excited for that experience.”
Healy took over the captaincy from from Meg Lanning, who stepped down in November at the age of 31.
The 33-year-old was doubtful for the India tour after she suffered a severe dog bite to her right index. Healy was trying to separate her two Staffordshire bull terriers puppies, My and Millie, when she suffered the injury which has her missing the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).
“I started back in the nets over the last week and a half, so I’m on track to fly to India for a big series over there,” she said.
“I actually always thought I was a couch potato, but spending three weeks on the couch, not even being able to sweat, was a real struggle for me. It wasn’t much fun.”
The Australians are due to leave for India on Wednesday.
