‘Satish Shah did not die due to kidney failure’: Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-star reveals real cause of death | Bollywood News

The world of Indian television and films went into shock when veteran actor Satish Shah passed away on October 25. It was initially reported that Satish was taken to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai after a sudden kidney failure, having earlier undergone a kidney transplant. However, now new information provided the actor’s Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-star Rajesh Kumar has invalidated those claims.
Satish Shah’s passing was announced director Ashoke Pandit via Instagram. He posted a picture of Satish, and the caption read, “Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor, Satish Shah, expired a few hours ago due to kidney failure. He was rushed to Hinduja Hospital, where he breathed his last. A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti.” Coming from Pandit, this information was believed many to be true, and tributes started pouring in. But Rajesh Kumar confirmed that the reason why Satish was taken to the hospital was due to a sudden heart attack, which he later succumbed to.

While talking to Bollywood Hungama, Rajesh admitted that this is an extremely difficult time for everyone who worked with him. He said, “I can’t tell you how emotional these last 24–25 hours have been. It’s very difficult to even express it. But I do want to clarify a few things about Satishji’s passing. Yes, he did have a kidney issue, but he actually passed away due to a heart attack.”

He added, “He was at home, having lunch, and then he just passed away. I wanted to clarify this because some reports are saying it was due to kidney problems. The kidney issue had already been dealt with; it was under control. Unfortunately, it was a sudden cardiac arrest that took him away.”
Rajesh played the son of Satish in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, and the actor talked about his connection with the late actor during an interview with ETimes. The actor admitted that Satish’s character in the show was a reflection of his real self and that the actor used his own shades of emotion, humour and strength for every single character he played. He said that this is more of a personal loss than a professional one because Satish had been a part of his life for more than two decades.
