Virat Kohli was the same age when he started playing well: Mohammad Kaif

Rinku Singh was the name on everyone’s lips this Sunday as the 25-year-old whacked five sixes in a row to wrap up a sensational chase for Kolkata Knight Riders against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
The UP batter scored 48 off 21 deliveries, laced with one four and six maximums. An innings that made him trend across the cricketing realm.
Former India international Mohammad Kaif recently put Rinku’s name alongside the former India captain Virat Kohli. Speaking of his former RCB teammate, Kaif suggested similarities between Kohli and Rinku’s story arcs and batting roles.
“See, Virat Kohli was the same age when he started playing well. Kohli used to play 5-6 for RCB in the initial years; so does Rinku Singh. What a performance. The last six that he hit, he actually charged down the track for that. No one had expected KKR to win, everyone had switched off the TV. But Rinku was there,” Kaif told Star Sports.

In three outings so far for KKR, Rinku has scored 98 runs at a strike rate of 168.97 in the lower middle order. Prior to his innings on Sunday, Rinku had also forged a vital 103-run sixth wicket stand in KKR’s bashing of the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Gardens.
With two wins in three matches, KKR next face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday.
