Raj Kundra defends wife Shilpa Shetty after viral video of her shouting at Croatia restaurant: ‘What was meant to be a special evening turned unnecessarily stressful’ | Bollywood News

On Wednesday, a video began doing the rounds on social media in which Shilpa Shetty can be heard screaming at a foreigner outside a restaurant in Hvar, Croatia. She can be heard saying, “Eat your food. Don’t talk to us, we don’t want to hear you.” However, one can’t see her clearly as there are people gathered outside the restaurant because of the argument.Now, Shilpa’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra has issued a clarification regarding the viral video and described what exactly happened at the restaurant. He confirmed the incident is from their recent family trip to celebrate Shilpa’s 50th birthday in Croatia. He claimed he booked a table at the popular restaurant for his extended family a year in advance in order to celebrate the special occasion together.
However, once they arrived at the restaurant, the staff informed them that their table has been double-booked, thanks to an error the same travel agent. “As someone who has also run restaurants, I found the handling of the situation deeply frustrating especially with my elderly parents, mother-in-law and 20 guests left waiting,” Kundra told Hindustan Times.

Shilpa and Raj own the popular restaurant chain Bastian, which has multiple outlets in Mumbai, along with one in Bengaluru. They also co-owned a pub called Royalty in Mumbai. “What was meant to be a special evening turned unnecessarily stressful, and when we raised our concerns, we were abruptly told to stay quiet, which only added to our disappointment,” reasoned Kundra.

“After a year of planning, the lack of accountability or even basic courtesy from the restaurant management was extremely disheartening. I hope this puts the situation into perspective,” added Kundra. Several accounts on social media speculate Shilpa and her family entered into a verbal argument with a foreigner at the restaurant who objected to them talking loudly.

On Monday, Shilpa shared precious moments from her birthday trip. These included her wearing a golden gown and posing in a balcony as firecrackers fill up the sky in the background. There was another one of her posing with her multi-tier birthday cake. She also shared pictures with Kundra, their kids Viaan and Samisha, ser Shamita Shetty and mother Sunanda. Shilpa also posed with her extended family at a fort next to the sea.

On the work front, Shilpa will be next seen in Kannada film KD – The Devil. Meanwhile, Raj Kundra will appear as a contestant on Prime Video India reality show The Traitors. Hosted filmmaker Karan Johar, the Indian adaptation of The Traitors will premiere this Thursday on June 12.
