Rajkummar Rao to star in a film based on male surrogacy in 2020?

Actor Rajkummar Rao who has given us hits like Newton, Judgementall Hai Kya, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, etc amongst the many has managed to impress the audience time and again with his acting skills and performance. The actor may be signing up for his new project and we can’t wait to find out more details!

Director Raaj Shaandilyaa who made his directorial debut with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dreamgirl is all set to collaborate with Ronnie Screwvala to produce a comedy flick. According to a report by a leading daily, Rajkummar Rao has been approached for the movie and he already likes the script.

The yet-untitled film marks the directorial debut of Ishrat R Khan. The director had earlier assisted Anees Bazmee in movies like No Entry and Welcome.

According to the report by Mumbai Mirror, the directors had narrated the script to Rajkummar and he has given a nod to the film. The rest of the formalities are supposed to be completed in January.

“Raj fits the character like a glove and everyone is hopeful about getting him on board,” a source close to the developments said.

The comedy flick is supposed to go on floors in mid-2020 and is expected to release at the end of the year. The film will reportedly revolve around male surrogacy and will be a social comedy.

The director-producer duo has unanimously agreed on Rajkummar Rao and has decided that he is the perfect fit for this role. “Raj fits the character like a glove and everyone is hopeful about getting him on board,” the source informs.

Raaj Shaandilyaa’s previous flick Dream Girl was also a social comedy based on the story of a man who pretends to be a woman while working at a female call centre.

Rajkummar Rao will also be seen in Chhalaang which will be produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan, and Ankur Garg. This movie marks the fifth film of actor Rajkummar Rao and director Hansal Mehta together post Shahid, City Lights, Aligarh and Omerta.
