Randeep Hooda reveals he lost 18 kgs in 28 days during Sarbjit shoot; reveals one fitness secret he swears : ‘Most of our health problems originate from…’ | Bollywood News

Actor Randeep Hooda is a performer who has various multi-layered and enthralling performances under his belt over his 24-year-long career. Known for his roles in films like Highway (2014), Sarbjit (2016), Veer Swatantra Savarkar (2024) and Once Upon a Time In Mumbai (2010), he has played many roles with immense dedication and passion. In a recent interview he talked about his character in the movie Sarbjit and how he had to transform himself physically to stay true to the narrative.
On an episode of the Shubhankar Mishra podcast, Hooda shared his experience of playing roles like Sarbjit and Savarkar and how he had to go through drastic physical changes while playing the former because the makers changed their shooting schedule.

“First they told me that they were going to shoot the Punjab portion, which involved the wrestling scenes, but they suddenly changed their plans. They were planning on just winging it, but I said that it’s not possible for a man who is in jail to be in such good health. So, I cut most of my food and water, and yes, it has a big impact on your body. During the shooting of Savarkar, I was underweight for almost 1.5 years,” added the Hooda. Directed Omung Kumar, the cast of Sarbjit also included Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Richa Chadha, Darshan Kumar and Ankur Bhatia.
When asked about his diet and the secret behind such a big physical transformation, Hooda went back to basics and said, “Both Hinduism and Islam have the concept of fasting, and I would suggest the same. Because our digestive system works continuously throughout our life, and most of our health problems originate from the stomach. fasting you are letting your digestive system rest and recover.”
Hooda’s latest film Jaat was released on April 10, and the cast of the film includes Sunny Deol, Regina Cassandra, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Urvashi Rautela, Ramya Krishnan and Upendra Limaye.
