‘Ranveer Singh said he had to give 30 takes, Deepika Padukone took 50 takes’: Barkha Bisht says ‘perfection’ Sanjay Leela Bhansali okayed her shot after 16 takes | Bollywood News

Actor Barkha Bisht has had a varied multi-decade career, with the majority of her work coming from the domain of television. She has been a part of several well-known series, such as Sankatmochann Mahabali Hanuman, Kya Mast Hai Zindagi and Tum Saath Jab Apne. Alongside her TV career, she has also played character roles in several Bollywood films. One of the films in her resume is the 2014 Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. The cast of the film included Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Richa Chadha, Gulshan Devaiah, Supriya Pathak and more.
In an appearance on the Siddarth Kannan podcast, Barkha shared different anecdotes and instances from her career. Among the many stories was the one about her time on a Bhansali set and her experience with the grandeur special. “Whenever he would lose his temper, everyone on the set would go quiet, including Ranveer Singh. Thankfully I never experienced that side of him, but I have definitely witnessed it. I was lucky that he was fond of me, but I have seen my co-actors in that situation.”

When asked about whether Bhansali would lose his cool with Ranveer, she replied, “He was never that way with Ranveer, but I think that’s because of Ranveer’s personality. Everyone talks about how hard-working he is, but his joyful and pleasant nature should also be taken into account. He never lets things get out of hand; even if someone is angry about something, he somehow always takes care of it and does not let the situation worsen.”
The actor further praised Ranveer sharing another story from the set. “My reputation on TV sets was that of a ‘one-take’ actor, and I had that confidence, but on the sets of Ram-Leela, I gave 16 takes for a single shot. I was worried, and I thought that my career was over when Ranveer came over and comforted me. He told me that he had also given 30 takes, while Deepika took 50 takes. ‘You’re good’ is what he said to me.”
Barkha shared how Ranveer and she talked a lot between takes about their families and backgrounds, but she never got a chance to shoot with Deepika.
