In many ways, Afghanan’s cricketing journey is Rashid’s journey, intertwined and inseparable. Rashid Khan is Afghana’s cricketing icon and identity. Rashid also defines his country’s cricketing ethos; he defined their dream runs in the ODI and T20 World Cups.
Rashid Khan had played a pivotal role for Afghanan in the T20 World Cup, where they secured their first semi-final appearance. Rashid picked up 14 wickets in the tournament.
Recently, the Afghan’s talisman has taken a break from the Test cricket.
Rashid Khan was been ruled out of Afghanan’s one-off Test against New Zealand, which got abandoned without a ball being bowled. Rashid has also skipped Afghanan’s ODI series against Sri Lanka and Ireland played in February and March.
The 26-year-old also sustained a hamstring injury while playing for Trent Rockets in the men’s Hundred tournament.
However, Rashid did played the bilateral series against South Africa, which Afghanan won 2-1.
