IDF confirms Hamas leader Muhammad Sinwar killed in May 13 strike | World News

The Israeli military said on Saturday that it killed Mohammed Sinwar, a senior Hamas commander in Gaza, during an air strike on 13 May.
The statement confirms what Israeli Prime Miner Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier this week.
Mohammed Sinwar, who was the younger brother of Yahya Sinwar — the former Hamas leader believed to have planned the 7 October 2023 attack on Israel — was reportedly targeted in a strike near a hospital in southern Gaza.

Prime Miner Netanyahu had said on Wednesday that Sinwar had been killed in the operation. Hamas has not commented on the claim and has neither confirmed nor denied his death.
