Record-Breaking Run All-Time Milestones and Horic Achievements So Far

Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 42: It has been 42 days since Dhurandhar hit the big screens, but the Ranveer Singh starrer continues its unstoppable box office rampage. Neither new releases nor big Sankranti films have managed to dent its momentum. During its horic run, the film has shattered multiple records, with the latest milestone being its achievement as the highest-grossing Indian film in the US. The film achieved this feat on its 40th day. Dhurandhar net domestic box office collection stands at Rs 866.40 crore while its worldwide earnings is over Rs 1300 crore. On its 42nd day, Dhurandhar added another Rs 3 crore to its tally. Meanwhile, Ikkis, which released nearly a month later, earned only Rs 50 lakh on its third Thursday. The film witnessed a low occupancy of just 13.11% across approximately 700 shows.
In contrast, Dhurandhar continues to enjoy strong footfalls with an occupancy of around 18% and is still running in 2,289 shows. Interestingly, this show count is close to what Karan Johar’s Tu Meri Main Tera received on its opening day. Despite releasing after Dhurandhar, the film failed to survive the massive craze surrounding Aditya Dhar’s directorial and wrapped up its theatrical run in about 15 days, with its shows dropping to as low as 500 Day 15. The Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday starrer had released on Chrmas, nearly 20 days after Dhurandhar. It earned nearly Rs 50 crore after being reportedly made on a budget of Rs 90 crore.
Dhurandhar has not only re-established Ranveer Singh’s box office dominance after Gully Boy or shot Akshaye Khanna to fame, but has also rewritten record books across multiple categories.

Top 5 highest-grossing Indian films worldwide
With a worldwide collection exceeding Rs 1,300 crore, Dhurandhar has surpassed RRR to become the fourth highest-grossing Indian film globally, behind Dangal, Baahubali 2, and Pushpa 2. The film is now just Rs 400 crore away from overtaking Pushpa 2. However, one major setback for Dhurandhar was its ban in Gulf countries, which reportedly resulted in a loss of nearly Rs 100–150 crore in potential earnings.
Perhaps the biggest achievement for Dhurandhar is its exceptional consency. Despite entering its seventh week in theatres, the film has remained rock solid at the box office, unaffected the releases of Ikkis, Tu Meri Main Tera, and major Sankranti releases such as The Raja Saab, Parasakthi, and Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, among others.
It remains to be seen whether Vir Das’ directorial venture backed Aamir Khan Productions, Happy Patel, will have any impact on Dhurandhar’s business. The next major box office clash is expected with Sunny Deol’s Border 2, which is scheduled for release on January 23.
