Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro sales hit one million in just a month of launch, claims Xiaomi
Xiaomi’s affordable line of devices is known to surpass the sales volume across the globe. Just recently the company’s renowned Redmi Note 7 series were sold by over 10 million times globally in 129 days and now the company claims to have sold over one million units of its newly launched Redmi K20 lineup in just a month of its launch. By achieving this new feat, the Chinese smartphone maker has proved its stronghold in the affordable segment of the market.
Xiaomi’s Global Spokesperson, Donovan Sung took to Twitter to announce the achievement where it said: “Excited to announce that shipments of the #RedmiK20 series hit 1M units in the first month!.” Though the company did not reveal exact sales figures of individual devices, it said the sales of both the phones have surpassed by over one million.
The Redmi K20 series was launched in China recently and now the phones are all set to arrive in the Indian market on July 17.
Both the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 91.9 per cent screen-to-body ratio. They run Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The pro model comes backed by the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset coupled with up to 8GB of RAM while the non-pro variant comes powered by Snapdragon 730 paired with 6GB of RAM.
For optics, the Redmi K20 series has a 48-megapixel camera sensor. The Redmi K20 gets a Sony IMX582 sensor, and the K20 Pro has Sony IMX 586 sensor. The phones have an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, 2x lossless zoom and 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor at the back while at the front they have a pop-up selfie camera. Additionally, the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 pro pack a 4000mAh battery capacity with fast charging support.
The higher specced Redmi K20 Pro has been priced at CNY 2,499 (which is roughly Rs. 25,200 in Indian currency) whereas the lower-specced Redmi K20 costs CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,100).
