The Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio, on Thursday, announced several new things for Jio users including a new Jio postpaid plan.

JioPostpaid is going live from May 15 and once the plan is live, we will see a new war amidst telcos. War to offer best postpaid plan to users. We can expect postpaid plans to become cheaper now and also launch of more new postpaid plans in near future to compete with each other.
Airtel, Idea and Vodafone have ruled the postpaid segment for long. These companies also offer benefits within the same price bracket but it would be noteworthy to see how these plans now stack up against Jio’s new Rs 199 postpaid plan. Take a look:
Vodafone RED Rs 399 postpaid plan: Vodafone last year in November launched new Vodafone RED postpaid plans to fight against its incumbent rivals. It starts at Rs 399 called the RED Basic plan. It offers unlimited national, local and STD calling along with 20GB data with data rollover facility and subscription to Vodafone Play services only. International roaming can be activated at Rs 149 per month.
Airtel Rs 399 Infinity postpaid plan: Airtel offers unlimited local, STD calls along with free roaming and 20GB data for a month. The plan costs Rs 399 and you get the free subscription to Wynk Music app. International roaming activation charge is Rs 149 per month.
Idea Nirvana Rs 389 plan: Idea’s Nirvana plan starts at Rs 389. You get free calls but roaming is chargeable. There is 20GB data and users need to pay Rs 2000 as a security deposit. Also, International roaming can be activated at Rs 149 per month and additional security deposit of Rs 2000.
JioPostpaid plan at Rs 199: Jio offers unlimited calling benefits, free roaming, and 25GB data for a month under this plan. Also, international roaming activation is free of cost.
Conclusion: On comparing all the plans, you find that Jio is the cheapest of all. Also, you get more data benefit from Jio and there’s no cost involved in the activation of international roaming. Idea here comes out to be the most expensive of all with Rs 2000 security deposit each for international roaming and monthly security deposit.
