Salman Khan’s assant asked Saurabh Shukla to act scared of Bhai’s character in Kick, he overheard conversation and put his foot down: ‘Don’t give him direction’ | Bollywood News

Actor Saurabh Shukla, who played a supporting role in the hit film Kick, recalled an incident on set, where an assant told him that he should appear scared of Salman Khan‘s character. The scene in questioned had Salman and Saurabh’s characters having a chat. Saurabh’s character was supposed to question Salman’s character, but the tables were turned on him, and he ended up having to answer questions instead. In an interview, Saurabh said that he chose to play the scene with confusion, but an assant advised him to appear scared instead.
He told News18 in an interview, “Salman’s character is meeting me for the first time as my daughter’s boyfriend. Interestingly, the scene is written in such a way that he asks me about my salary, my savings, etc… So when I am asked that question, I reacted in a way that showed the audience that I was stumped and shocked that question. After the scene was shot, one of Salman’s assants came up to me, and said that I have to change my reaction in that scene. The assant felt I should act scared in front of Salman’s character. I tried to argue that such a reaction doesn’t make sense, because I was playing the ambassador of a country; why would I be scared of some random man?” he said.

Saurabh said that Salman overheard the conversation, and summoned the assant. He said, “Salman called his assant, and asked him to not durb me at all. He told him not to give me any direction.” Saurabh speculated that the assant might have been trying to curry favour with Salman, assuming that he would like to be portrayed as more daunting on screen. “But that’s not true,” Saurabh said, adding, “Salman is an actor first. He understands scenes. It’s not like he’s the only one beating people up; sometimes he also gets hit.”
Saurabh said that a lot is riding on movies featuring stars such as Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan. “It’s a misconception that struggle ends when you attain success. The struggle never ends. A lot is riding on the films of the three Khans; they can’t afford to deliver massive flops. They have to struggle to retain their success. In fact, when you have nothing to lose, you are freer,” he said. Also featuring Jacqueline Fernandez, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Randeep Hooda, Kick was directed Sajid Nadiadwala. A sequel is said to be in development. Salman last starred in the box office disappointment Sikandar.
