Rohit Sharma regers unwanted batting record in IPL 2023
Rohit Sharma earned a dubious batting record as Mumbai Indians were beaten Chennai Super Kings six wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday.
Sharma was out for a 16th duck, the most in IPL hory, as Mumbai posted only 139/8 in 20 overs. Chennai, on a three-game losing streak, then reached the target in the 18th over.
Sharma dropped to number three in the batting order to help his confidence, but he failed to reach double digits for a fourth straight match. He chipped to backward point for a three-ball duck and Mumbai slid to 14-3 in 2.5 overs.
Before the game against CSK, Rohit was tied with three other players on 15 IPL ducks, which included e Dinesh Karthik, Mandeep Singh and West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine.
In addition to this, this was Rohit’s 11th dismissal on a duck as a captain, the most any captain in IPL.
