Gwyneth Paltrow is opening up about her high-profile romance with Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt—a love story that had all of Tinseltown buzzing back in the ’90s. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the Oscar winner revealed she still shares a friendly bond with the F1 star. And it’s not just Pitt, Paltrow also shared that she remains on good terms with another famous ex, Ben Affleck.
Paltrow and Pitt’s romance first bloomed during table reads for the 1994 film Legends of the Fall. The duo later starred together in the 1995 thriller Se7en. According to reports, they dated for several years and even got engaged in December 1996, but ultimately parted ways six months later. “I really embrace the roads that I take,” the 52-year-old told Vanity Fair. “I almost never go back and noodle about choices.”

“He’s a very intriguing character,” Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow said of Brad Pitt in her recent interview. “It’s like having dated, I don’t know, Prince William or something. That’s always going to come up,” she added. Paltrow also shared a moment from their time together, recalling how a producer once slapped her with the “very entitled” label while she was dating Pitt. She remembered the Balon actor being “over for my birthday” while she was filming a movie, working brutal hours (up to 20 hours a day, six days a week). After finally being granted 12 hours off, she told Vanity Fair, a producer still made her feel like she was “the most entitled…”
“It was such a horrible feeling,” Paltrow admitted. She said she worried at the time that the producer was “crafting a story that I’m being difficult,” but felt powerless to speak up. “Of course, you didn’t say anything, because you could already tell that the guy with the power was like, ‘I don’t like what I’m seeing here.’”

The two famously dated from 1994 to 1997 before parting ways. She then crossed paths with Ben Affleck. The duo reportedly met at a party hosted now-disgraced studio mogul Harvey Weinstein in the late ’90s, according to PEOPLE. Their on-again, off-again relationship eventually came to an end in 2000. Affleck soon started dating pop star Jennifer Lopez.
Later, Paltrow found lasting love with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The pair met backstage at a Coldplay concert in 2002 and went on to marry, staying together for more than a decade before “consciously uncoupling” in 2014. During their marriage, they welcomed two children—daughter Apple in May 2004 and son Moses in April 2006.
