We are not worried about SKY: Hardik Pandya backs Suryakumar Yadav despite poor run of form | Ipl News

Suryakumar Yadav is one of the best T20 players in the modern game. Not only does he score his runs at a brisk pace but also has the ability to make big scores on a regular basis instead of just cameos at a higher tempo. However, in recent times his form has taken a dip. In the last 17 innings which he batted for India Surya has been only able to churn out 429 runs at an average of 26.81.
However, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya said he is not worried about the form of Surya. “We are not worried about SKY. He has scored a lot of runs for so many years. I or we are not concerned about his form,” Pandya said during the pre-match conference.
“I’m not very concerned. He had a couple of practice games, wish you were there to watch. Sometimes, the way he has played, and how he has gone about, it has been fantastic to watch. When he fails, we all feel okay, he is human as well,” Mahela Jayawardene would support Hardik’s statement.

Why Suryakumar and not Hardik will captain MI vs CSK Clash?
After MI’s group-stage exit last year, Pandya was banned for the slow-over rate offense against the Lucknow Super Giants during the team’s last outing. It was the third time in 14 games that MI had failed to maintain the over-rates, resulting in the skipper’s ban, an INR 30 lakh match fee fine, and the rest of the playing XII, including the Impact Player, were either fined Rs 12 lakh of 50 percent of their match fees.
Pandya said that he will have to miss the game with his teammate and India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav taking over the reins at Chepauk. “Surya will be the ideal choice when I am not there,” said Pandya.
Mumbai will start their campaign against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk in their opening encounter.
