Royal Challengers Bengaluru rise to 3rd after 1st home win of season

The Rajasthan Royals botched a perfect chase, set up for them opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 49 off 19 balls and gave the team a flying start. Royals needed 18 runs off the final two overs to win with the scoreboard reading 188/5. But over the next 12 balls, they scored just six runs and lost four wickets. The hero of the game was Josh Hazlewood who claimed two wickets while giving away just one run in the 19th over.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru thus moved up to third spot in the IPL 2025 standings, climbing up one spot. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals are still in 8th spot. The team is running out of road to mount a campaign to qualify for the IPL 2025 Playoffs.
The RCB lost the toss and were asked to bat first once again at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
