Rubina Dilaik poses for the cameras, gives tips to paparazzi for staying cool this summer: ‘Eating seasonal…’ | Food-wine News

Rubina Dilaik believes in eating local and seasonal foods for good health, immunity. And she suggested the same to paparazzi who asked her for tips on beating the sweltering summer heat while clicking her pictures on the set of Laughter Chef recently. “Coconut water and sabja. It’s very good for your stomach. Additionally, include seasonal fruits like mangoes, watermelon, and oranges. Eat a lot of watermelon. Eating seasonal fruits is very important,” said Dilaik, 37, who looked lovely in a silver outfit.
But did she suggest the right things?
Dietitian Simrat Bhui agreed with the recommendations and said that the combination of coconut water and sabja seeds makes an excellent drink for hot summers. “The combination gives the body a cooling effect apart from instant hydration. The combination also increases the fibre content,” Bhui said.
Coconut water is rich in nutrients, including potassium and magnesium. “It is rich in soluble fibre and antioxidants. For those suffering from frequent dehydration, it is a must-have. Being low in calories, coconut water can be a valuable addition,” said Bhui.

She also agreed that sabja seeds, also known as basil seeds, act as a natural body coolant, which helps support gut health. “It is rich in fibre, which improves blood sugar levels and also helps reduce constipation,” Bhui said.
What more? Eating seasonal fruits, such as mangoes, helps you feel more satiated while also reducing the risk of illnesses. “Mangoes are naturally juicy and hydrating fruits, making them ideal for combating dehydration during the hot summer months. Including mango slices in your salads also helps add a refreshing element while helping to maintain hydration levels,” said Dilip Gude, senior consultant physician, Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad.
The inclusion of fruits not only keeps the body hydrated but also helps regulate bowel movements, prevent constipation, and support the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, contributing to overall digestive wellness owing to the presence of fibre in fruits, said Dr Gude.
The vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants present in fruits provide a steady boost to the immune system, helping to ward off infections and keep you healthy during the summer season.
